Ischia Black

I'm resisting picking these just a little bit longer.  I hope nothing gets them in the middle of the night.

Like me! LOL:-) Just kidding!

Watch out. May be pop up T-storms over Worcester County tonight. I don't know how much rain causes souring but some figs got moldy by the eye the day after a heavy storrm.

I hope you get to eat those beautiful figs
Oh by the way whats your address:)

The weatherbug alert just went off on my taskbar.  I'll have to keep an eye on that.  I need a fig alert program.

If that's a potted tree I think I would have brought it inside for the night and stand guard all day. I wish you luck.

Ok, These were good.  I think I'm getting the idea about what ripe is when talking about figs.  These two were hanging like earings on a womens ears.  But they still probably could of stayed on even longer if wind or rain would not interfer.  They were sweet but there was a burst of sweetness around the eye that was as sweet as smuckers raspberry preserve.  You can see it in one of the pictures.  If this fig dehydrated a little more it would be like candy.  I'm looking forward to the remaining ones.  I think these two were brebas since they more advanced then the remaining.

Nice pictures of your Ischia Black. My scion from UcDavis last season i think it was pertified no not really but never rooted.
Many thanks for showing the pictures and hope to see more of your plant in future i enjoy seeing the pictures.

Wow nice looking fig.Is your ischia a slow grower?Thank you

Nice fig (fruit).
My IB is a dud (growth).

The stronger of the two put on 15in of growth and is around 6ft before I realized I should pinch it off.  I would say it took just as long to get initials on the scion and root as Black Madeira.  The other is a slower grower and hasn't done much this year although it has more figs on a small side branch than the whole tree.  The FMV is visible.
