Ischia fig varieties

I repotted a Blue Ischia from ebay and the Ischia Black cutting started from a broken branch from last spring.  The Ischia Black had gone dormant and it took about 4 weeks to wake up again.  You can see the deformed leaves and the discoloration from the FMV in the Ischia Black.  The Blue Ischia looks clean so far.

Nice video, Tom, thanks for sharing, and love the coffee filter idea, I'm going to use that for all my potted plants, great idea.  I've been using a couple of sheets of newspaper, but I think the coffee filter will allow better water drainage, and maybe last a wee bit longer.  You sound like my husband (originally from Boxford, MA).  I, too, bought a "Blue Ischia" from Hirt's, and will be interested to see if it really is Ischia Black.  Mine is also a tiny, spindly thing.  Hoping for more growth as the weather warms up here in S. California.  We'll have to compare notes.

I also Bought a Blue Ischia from said vendor, and,it is healthy, but what it will come out of it?
I am not going to guess?,because I was wrong before!
But the leaves sure look like Celeste, leaves!!!!
Mine is ,one year older, planted outside and I will see fruits next Summer if I am lucky!

yellow ischia is a great tasting fig

deep red inside

I use my crummy MosslerLee spaghnum moss to fill the holes in the pot  : )  Works great.  I wet it first and squeeze the water out as if I were going to start cuttings.
