Not one of my favorites. Not much flavor, not very sweet but we shall see. About a 5.
Mike: Very nice, thanks for sharing. How old is your tree? Is it in the ground or in a pot? Thanks.Best,Tam
Tam, it's a first year tree in five gal pot.
Would you please post some pictures of the leaves?
Mike , I had read somewhere here that GI was an underrated fig according to the poster ( Wills, FMD?). May need a couple years to reach it's potential. Still in all - it looks good !
Meghan, I will post the leaves tomorrow. Pattee, I read the same thing. I does look good and I will give it some time.
It's green Mike, that's why it doesn't taste right. LOL
Tami, ok Martin
Thanks Mike
Martin, I certainly prefer the dark over the green but there are a few green/yellows that I am taking a liking to.
Mike all i say to above post is there are always a few good apples <green/yellows> in a barrel of spoiled ones. ; ) [paleface]All on fun
Mike, I am sorry that it is not tasty for you. Mine started to produce this year and I put a lawn chair beside it to sit and wait for the next ripe one. Great flavor, meaty texture, honey syrup, deep red color made it the fig of the year for me.
Meghan, here is a pic of the leaves.
Mike...your IG looks beautiful, and as it matures, so will the taste...every one who has eaten figs from my 7yr. old IG has been impressed by it's sweet jammy flavor...give yours a little more time...I think you'll be glad you did.
Those are really beautiful! Thank you for posting those pictures Mike. I have a baby Ischia Green and I was curious how it would look when its a bit bigger.
