Ischia is in the ground

We got our Ishia planted. Mixed in some composted manure with a couple handfuls of Blood Meal, and Bone Meal. Staked it a little to change the shape. It was pretty sloppy from sitting at Home Depot.

There was another little tree leaning from the mother tree with a semi separate root system. I decided to take a chance to see if I could double my purchase by removing the little one from the mother..possibly a bad idea..it is so shocked from trying it! All the leaves are droopy now. We're keeping our fingers crossed hoping it'll live through the shock of being separated.

Like Noss mentioned it needs shade at this point in time .

Looks like a great spot, :o), I hope the baby one takes for you, good luck!!!

I draped a sheet over some wooden stakes hoping it will help..it's all i had. It looks sooo sad right now.
Still fingers crossed!!

You can use layers of cheese cloth as well if you don't have shade cloth, it is harder to work with due tot he size generally but can be stapled together, if you have 4-5 layers as time progresses, you can removed one layer at a time until it is ready for full strength sun.

Don't be afraid to take off some of the bottom leaves. It may just loose all of them for a time. But all will come back or at least enough to save the tree. Shade it and put some mulch around it. You must have enough roots to support all leaves. Till then they will droop and maybe fall off.
