It is freakin hot in Idaho

So far temperatures in Idaho has reaclamia little over the 90's F, I know "Boo hoo" but for my fig lets, I think they might be suffering. Dunno what to make of it? The leaf tips have brown shriveled ends. I'm worried. My figlets are so precious to me, especially the ones which were given to me free (from my fig pals), and an UNKNOWN from an acclaimed member "Gorgi"

Second is stupid earwig bugs! I think they were having a damn feast. Because it is dry here, I spoiled my babies with their own humidifier -lol! Yuppers! Yes I did, $1.25 at the handy dandy thrifty store. It works.  Bought a lot of used pots there!

Anywhoo, I think I may have farted them too. Could that be the reason? Or should I just put them in the shade?

Dont have photos. My iPhone will not let me...

Third, I mentioned this in another post somewhere... I have an authentic Coach. Trade of equal value? Totally willing to give this up! Lmao! Just sayin'. I'm so lame.

If not, I don't care. I was curious who would bite the offer.

OMG- what woman gives up her Coach for a plant?---- >This one!<-----

Edit: whoops...

What I meant was... "Fertilized"- I didn't fart on my plants

I was thinking maybe that's why they have browned and shriveled ends LOL LOL

Thanks for the laugh at this hour!!!!

Its been pretty hot this season all over except extreme northwest and here just as warm as your area high 90s for past week with highest reading 101 and today forecast 99 with 4th of July and 5th forecast for 100 with cool down next week not too common here these temps.

Anyways my plants are fine i fertilzed and limed then recently as well but i keep them well watered and see nothing like you mentioned and there in full sun in containers some black pots on rocks and on cement patio.

Keep them well watered .

LOL, That had me laughing Jenn, and I have always been told that girls don't fart. And a humidifier? Are they indoors? It is so hot aand humid here I can't imagine plugging in a humidifier. Anyway, I would'nt fertilize any more and probably increase water a bit. You may have burned the leaves with too much fertilizer. Flushing the soil might be a good idea. Drench the pots with plain water a couple times to leach out the excess fertilizer.

BLB,
Will do. I will bath them in water

I have to say I completely laughed out loud over here reading this thread.  I can honestly say that I detest earwigs.

For my cuttings, I started them in the shade and have moved them slowly into the sun to get them used to the heat.  However, I do tend to water them every day, and they seem to be happy.  Our weather has been kind of weird, cloudy and cool, then high 90s, back to nice 80s for a week, then two days of hot 90s, then back to cool days.  The figgies are hanging in there, though.

Martin, thanks for the tip

Your welcome .
Side note i did now notice the word figlets you used  ?
If real small and not used to full sun then nix what i said .

Mine are totally use to the sun even ones in 1g-3g pots.
Also with this type of heat its been my experience that 1-3 gallon pots in full sun@ 90 plus least mine need water every morning and sometimes in eve if i feel the pots have gotten much lighter in weight.

I truly feel for you guys in the heat wave, because it's not just heat, it's humidity!!  We always have heat here!  104 is nothing!  But it's DRY heat and bearable.  You'll hear me complain when it gets over 115 degrees.  That is the day the AC goes out!!

My son is an Endodontist (root canal specialist) in Denver, and he calls yesterday.  "Ma, I'm between patients.  AC went out.  It's 95 degrees, and just awful!"  I gave him my sympathy, but the news across the nation is tough to read, and I'm sorry for all of you in this situation.

It will surely pass!

I have heard of people using urine on compost piles for nitrogen. I'm unfamiliar with farting on plants though. Is this because they like greenhouse type gases like CO2 & Methane?

I actually thought urine was a deer repellant.  Rolling eyes....

Been raining cats and dogs and everything in between all day today here in Southeast Michigan.
Much much needed.
It's a cool 72F right now. But we will pay the price later with all the humidity this rain will cause.

I'm tired of the triple digit temps. I'm watering before the crack of dawn everyday.

Too hot here! Fudge... I got paranoid i watered pretty heavy, waited abot an hour then i took all my babies and I brang them indoors. "No way José!" am I not going to take a chance, plus I have a breeze.. It's like a blow dryer! I should move to my new house soon.

Cant wait to start using my auto- sprinklers!

Getting back to Jennifer's problem...    :)

Jen, you have to give us more info.  Are these rooted cuttings?  How old?  Does the soil feel wet or dry 2" down before you water?  Are they in 1 gal pots?  Slide the plant out if they're in 1 gal pots and have been rooted more than 3 mo and tell us what the roots look like? (slide the plants out of the pots)  Are they circling the soil?  Are they white?  Brown?  How much and what kind of fertilizer have you been using?   Also, see if you can get some help with your iphone.  Pictures answer a lot of questions.

I have 50 cuttings (cutting are good), the ones I got worried were my White Triana-four foot tall, my blk triana- four foot tall, and Panache four foot tall. All strong roots, and soil appears in great condition and not wet but damp. My fertilizer was from Joe Morley, and I used all purpose miracle grow. I stopped using for two days. I flushed them all with water, they look better now. The wind was killer here in idaho

I tried uploading pictures but our forum will not let me ( does not like IPhones?).. Black and white triana and panche are indoors.

If I can't make noise when I fart, I just go ahead and belch!!!!!

Like Martin sez, that's just me

Hot and humid here in NJ too and calling for more.
Double whammy in Monmouth County NJ. A bridge w 3 LARGE water pipes collapsed. Even tho it didn't affect my town's water, in order to share water/ have water for fire fighting, there's a county wide ban on outdoor watering!
Might be time for a well.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Drink lots of coffee or your prefered beverage and go outside and visit you fig trees. Might be more effective than farting on them
