It took me several years to find out what a Blue Ischia looks like.

Several years ago, I purchase a tiny Blue Ischia from one of those online nurseries. I was new to figs and did not know any better. There was a lot of talk about Black Ischia. So I said to myself Blue, Black etc..
How different could those figs be?
I left this one neglected in a five gallon bucket. One season it gets attacked by voles and another it spends its time recovering.
Well today, I've got my answer as to how a Blue Ischia should looks like. I was laughing as I posted this.
It has no sign of Blue, Purple or Black. By having other figs I know now what it is.
The moral of the story is that if something is too good to be true, it probably is.

I too received this cultivar labeled as Blue Ischia,  but I subsequently allowed the name to remain on the tree after it grew out...    the 'Blue' now representing the color of my countenance upon discovery of the mature fruit, rather than the color of the fruit itself.  ;-)

😂

Sas, it looks like a "White Marseilles"...I'm not sure but I had a ripe one today, it was OK...: )

White Marseilles, I'm assuming?

I agree, It's marseilles or Latarulla. But to sell it as Blue Ischia, It beats me how a seller could make such a huge mistake.
But this is an ongoing practice. Change the name and sell more plants.

Without reading the responses... I said to myself that looks like Latarulla. I got a "blue ischia" this year as a bonus, but the leaves are more finger like. It also has the worst case of FMV out of all of my varieties.

I traded away all my blue ischia. Seller told me it might be a Celeste but the fruit is for sure not green. It seems like there are a few completely different plants circulating named blue ischia.

Lol!

Welcome to the wonderful world of fig names.
