99 grams is very large for Figo Preto. Must be the climate. My largest I can find a photo of is 57 grams. My largest Italian 258 from a first year tree was 109 grams.
Thanks Harvey. 1.5x99grams :) I will get one and see what size figs I get here. ;)
Figgysid1Your fruit pix show a Breba fruit,if it is on new wood or old wood,it is still a Breba because when plants are young they develop main crop figs on new wood, but also a very few Breba at the beginning of the Branch and ,where breba is present the leaf belonging to that position is missing. You got a breba fruit in my opinion.
Herman he said that was a Preto, you called it a breba. I understand your point, but would add that it is extremely rare for a Preto to have a breba mature, maybe in the magical Hawaiian climate, never East of Arizona.
Yes That Preto has a Breba, even if it is growing on new wood!.It happen on young trees only ,and ,on any cultivar.!Once the tree is older ,over 2 years old ,breba will grow only on old wood. That is what i noticed on my trees.
