Italian 258 ripening

Certainly anxious to try this one. Should be soon. IMG_3822.JPG

Very nice.  It's so hard when they start ripening and you're watching and waiting and almost urging them on to speed up.  I've heard good things about I-258.  Should be delish.  Post a photo of the ripe fig if you get a chance!

Nice

Can't wait to hear your feedback on this one, Gary!  If you've tasted Black Madeira and/or I-258, let us know how it compares.

Congratulation Garry:
In My opinion, the fig is suffering from excessive heat ,if in pot.
The fruit does not look plumply, hydrated like it should,so,I suggest, covering the pot on outside with aluminum foil, and watering more often.
I do not want Garry to be disappointed ,when he got cuttings from me.
Otherwise the cultivar is ,correct, but this first fruit ,does not look right.
Here is how it should look if it was ,a delicious main crop fruit,in healthy condition.
Of course you got plenty of fruits coming so you will get some delicious ones, this Summer.

Thank you, Vasile, yes, I got this from you. I was thinking that the recent hot spell we had was hard on it. My figs in wine barrels do much better. I will make sure to shade this one, until I plant it in ground.
