Italian Black pics

Good day, it's been over a year since I purchase Dalton's Italian Black fig tree.  I like this fig.  I did not let it fully ripen on the tree this year.  Our night temperatures are getting down to the 50s and and 80s in the day time and some of my figs don't like it.  Any way, here is a picture of one of my trees I got from Dalton.  Its called Italian Black.  According to his web site this fig is a heirloom fig grown by the Becnel family of Belle Chasse, Louisiana for over 100 years.  I like the taste of this fig.  It was sweet and not figgy tasting at all.  I'm going to plant it in the ground come spring.  cheers!

Hi Dennis,

It's good to hear your take on the taste of this fig.  I ran over to Durio Nursery a few weeks ago and bought an Italian Black fig tree.  I got a Black Celeste and a Native Black.  I don't know why I got them, but I did.  :|

Is the eye on the fig open?  If so, is it open all the way into the pulp?

Thanks,

noss
