These are pictures of my Italian Golden Honey from Paradise Nursery and are very similar to the figs that I had last season as well.




This is where is gets a little tricky. These are pictures of figs from the same tree, taken about ten days ago.







 

Maybe it is really Italian Strawberry. I have been well-taught by a long time grower of figs, that they respond in many ways to their environment. He has always said that color can change with environment, and this is the second variety that has definitely changed over the course of this season. Danny's Delite went from amber in the first part of the season, to its characteristic red about 2 weeks ago. So, even pictures of figs, interior, and exterior are insufficient to prove that two tress are the same or different. Sybil at Paradise Nursery did not recognize her Dark Sultane when I sent pix of my figs off of the tree I bought from her: California vs. Virginia. Italian Golden Honey is San Diego vs. San Diego. It is not getting any easier.
