Italian Honey Cuttings

I just helped my buddy wrap his tree for the winter. he gave me a bunch of cuttings for helping him out.
i would like to offer up these cuttings for the cost of shipping. so if anyone is interested, let me know.....

all i can tell you about this tree is that it is a real producer. this tree stands about 7'- 8' tall and probably produced over 800 figs this year. and that's no exaggeration..!!!! the green figs are huge with a honey colored inside and is as sweet as honey.. Here in zone 6 it produces an excellent breba crop around June and a massive main crop that starts to ripen in august and lasts right up to end of october. the last of the figs were picked November 11th and they were still very sweet considering the amount of rain we had received back in October.

also, what to do with multi tipped cuttings? do i leave them as is or should i snip off the tips and just leave the main branch/cutting?

Thanks,
Stevin

here are the pics.....

Interested

No the tips are good try and keep the terminal buds they root better in my experience

Interested if any are still available. Thanks Russ- PM Sent

Hi stevin,
I would like to get in on that offer.  Will PM you.

I would cut the lower multi branches and make them be individuals, leave the main with 3 on the top... and root as you would..when planting it will be already branching out, if you leave their tips .... yeah, I like those with tips also, you can monitor their progress much better. Wow that is a real finding.  looks like  a good fig also.   Good luck there!

thanks to everyone that has shown interest in the cuttings!!!!!

this is a very tastey fig with a very gooey inside.

Look at all those cuttings, a real pot of gold.

I'm interested.

Not to hijack Stevin's message, but since it's for the exact same variety, I also have some Italian Honey cuttings available.

EDIT Sorry I should have made this more clear. I am only posting this in case Stevin gets more requests than he has Italian Honey cuttings remaining, I have some that I can provide.

i apologize to anyone who has pm'd me and haves't gotten a response from me. i've been away from the computer all day. i will go thru my pm's and get back to everyone.

Paulandirene, no worries......
i hope you get requests for your cuttings.

Thanx,
Stevin

Stevin, since we have already traded cuttings, I arranged something with Paulandirene!  Italian Honey was the first fig I ever purchased online from Gurney's Nursery.  I knew it was a light honey fig, but it's figs were dark, red and jammy inside, and I was confused.  The forum members here ID'd mine as VdB, and I was thrilled, but still, I wanted that Italian Honey!  Thanks so much for Figo Preto!  The cuttings look amazing, all showing root initials, so I'm pretty sure they will root really quickly!

I think you have made many members here happy with your offer of Italian Honey!  If the Italian Honey cuttings are in as good shape as the Figo Preto cuttings Stevin sent me, I think all of you receiving these cuttings from Stevin will be very happy!
