Italian Honey Fig DFIC

hi everyone. i'm new here. i spent a summer in italy last year, fell in love with the italian honey fig, and i'm having trouble locating the correct DFIC accession (cutting) number for this variety. i have seen different numbers associated with the italian honey fig; in italy i found the fig to be green, not too big, not red or pink inside, rather greenish/pale color, and very very sweet. some say it is lattarula or votata or kadota fig i should be looking for; can anyone provide some insight or clarification for me please? thanks, the fig freak

Welcome to the Forum!  The fig you had in Italy may or may not exist in the US.  There may be a dozen or more figs with local names in Italy that are Italian Honey.  We do have Italian Honey, Peter's Honey, Kadota, Dottato and others that may be similar.  You can ask out host, Jon (Pitangadiego), if he has any plants or cuttings for sale.  I'm pretty sure Just Figs has the first two.  Or you can go fishing around for them, but don't buy from ty ty or willis orchard.  They sell mislabeled plants all the time.

I don't know the DFIC #'s... http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/tax_site_acc.pl?DAV%20Ficus%20carica , but...
There are 2 groups of figs that are called "Italian Honey" as mentioned by Bob C. in the previous post. One group consistis of White Marseilles, Italian Honey and Lattarula which have thin ribbed skins and large seeds.
The second group consists of Dottato, Kadota and Peters Honey which have thick smooth chewy skins and fewer small seeds. Both groups have been called Italian Honey due to the taste and the drop of honey that forms in the ostiole when they are fully ripe.
