Is it from the extreme heat? Should I find a shadier spot that isn't in the harsh afternoon sun or maybe some shade cloth? 

Are fig plants unable to take these temps?

Mine were drooping too, about an hour ago. A deep soaking will perk them right up, right before your eyes.
If they're potted, try filling a tub with water, and soak the pots in it for about 20 minutes each. That's a good cure for the pots that have dried up so much that the potting soil shrinks, allowing water to run right through.

My trees drooped when temps were first getting into the mid 90's and 100's but after they keep getting exposed to them they will eventually stop drooping ......now my trees dont even droop when i get many days of extreme heat ...

I agree. Make sure they are hydrated and don't worry about it too much. Figs will droop sometimes in the heat.

If you can provide morning and evening light but shade during the hottest part of mid day, they may grow better.

If they don't perk up by the morning, then you've got a problem.

If in pots i move mine to area where they dont get afternoon heat. Yes they will recover from it but why syress the plant. With repeated over exposure to sun will cause leaf burn etc. After plants are one year or older less precaution can be taken. We are at 100 today. Moisture uptake is not enough for young leaves. Just my experience living in the south.

Yes I had some leaf burn,on a few young trees in pot that i intend to sell.
The old in ground tree will only droop leaves but no damage,they will recover after 5pm.

My nero 600m seems to drop and leaves fold and twist after it's watered. Once I place it in shade it perk right up. Seem backwards. 

Never let water hit leaves if possible. Its bad when its hot.

Are they in pots or in ground ?
If in pot, shade the pot at least and check for moisture. If needed put a bigger plate under the pot for them trees to drink during the day.
Here we've been in the 35°c/43°C - 95°F/110°F for two or three weeks (temps in the shade, imagine a full sun position temp at 2PM), and some trees started giving up on older leaves - they are yellowing and will come off .
I couldn't water them as much as would have been needed and that's the result.
3 of my trees looked droopy at some point and I watered them more (40liters/10gallons of water each ) and they perked up.
Those 3 trees are in 80 liters / 20 gallons trashcans buried in the ground for rodent protection ... Well, not the best idea with those temps .
I have an in ground tree that has a yellow leaf and looked droopy yesterday evening - brebas are ripening and might pump all the available water... Still that's just unseen here at this time of the year ... A five years old established tree ... I have some plum root shoots that are now grilled like chicken from the oven.

At my house we have had incredible hot weather  90plus   every day with extremely high humidity   all my figs are in pots under oak tree in shade.   Since this is rainy season   rain in afternoon  at least every other day.   The water and shade seem to be the key  no drooping or yellowing    Orchids are in pots under the shade and they are loving it.  Natural green house.  The citrus in the back yard are thriving in the high heat sun and rain.   

I think they got scalded today. Mostly the new leaves it looks like

My fig is in a pot, a subirrigated one.

My older trees are producing new leaves and shedding old ones. But the trees are still growing taller. Heat just destroyed the nice big leaves. Fruit is fine. My in pot figs like being under my oak trees too the heat not the problem its direct contact with sun

So what say you guys? too hot for my fig tree? Its def. the smaller newer leaves...

   

Those leaves are evidence that the plants dried out some. I have seen this (and much worse) on potted figs when I go out of town and my family forgets to water them. Its not heat or sun, figs love both. Here in Arkansas we have 95+ almost every day through July and Aug, fig thrive in this.

The issue is water, esp. with potted figs. Since they have limited root networks they dry out much faster. When it hot, give them a sip of water every day, in the cool of the morning or late evening. Putting them in some afternoon shade will not hurt, but the pics show a lack of water.

Also, just a note about your wishlist. VdB and Negronne are considered by most to be the same fig. I got cuttings of both and so far that seems to be true.
