Its On - The Fig Shuffle

This is the longest stretch i ever have gone without having to bring my trees in the garage at night and my back and groin area is thanking me for that.
Tress are looking better all the time with exception of only a few.

My area looking at nights of low 40s Farenheit next week. Should I bring the younguns in, or just throw a blanket over  them?

Hey Martin,

The ones that are not looking so good must be white figs. I can take care of that problem, just send them to me. They will fell better and so will you;)

Central coastal NJ Monday night/Tuesday morning forecast 29 F, back into the garage we go!

Man, I am getting too old for all this crap!

I hear that. I just moved everything in the garage. The small pots are not bad and now that I am using pro-mis this year they really were a lot easier. I have three large trees and I am trying Bill's Figs Self watering set ups with his soil mix. I have not found plastic tarps to cover them with yet and they got rained on last night as well as having water in them. They weight a ton, but I decided I should get them in the garage since they have small leaves and breba already. When most of my trees get bigger it is really going to get interesting...

Gorgi i feel for you as you have a few years on me best to you .
Tonight it will be in high 30s for first time since plants came out and i bring in the small ones .
The large ones will stay out.
Recently we had lots of rain and there all well watered and pots heavy as i now use a heavier type mix for them.
Rain barrel is full also as i hooked it back up just in time.

My Madeira i snuck up on it and without plant knowing whats what it went into its final size pot as i mixed some stuff up for it.
It looks real nice no damage and many emerging shoots on it with a few breba that will get knocked off.

Lukeott -  Hey Martin,

Hi Lukeott...
if i ever find out i have a white fig plant the sender would get good dose out of my bag of mojo and
be jinxed with there plants.
It would never make it past my burn barrel so i could not send nor waste time packaging such a plant so im sorry.   ; )

I was hoping that as Monday approached the forecast would improve to something at least above 32 F.  Instead it's forecast went from 28 F to 21 F so I guess everything is coming back in.

28F in Romeoville ,IL tonight . All my figs going to garage for couple days !

Yes Jusalda were having a frost warning tonight for our area's.
My Jerusalem looks good so far this year how is yours ?

Even my elders coming in tonight as i dont want them to get set back any cause i regret later on .
Next week nightly lows in the mid 30s , oh well they can keep in the garage no problem.

Martin, Jerusalem is fine last year I had only 1 fruit it it did not ripened till frost :(.

Hoping this year will have a chance ,it not this tree will be out of my collection.
