James Robin Figs

I'm commenting more along the lines of potted trees.  If you overwinter in pots, you won't get hard freeze. I have read data out there to show that even a hard freeze won't kill RKN, but most of my comments in this thread have been related to pot culture.

Not trying to cane a point here, just offering a thought to keep in the back of your head - with any trees, not just ones from JR.  If everyone practiced this way, I honestly believe it could have a positive impact.

I just spoke to mr robin. Nice guy. I guess I was his first fall order.
Ordered myself an O'Rourke, Scotts Black,, Negrone, and what he calls an "eastern" brown turkey. I'm pretty sure eastern = English.

He charges between 18-25 a tree. Not terrible for some more unique fig Varities.

You will be happy with them Tim. When I get trees from him in the fall, I pot them up and grow indoors until the spring. I don't like the idea of getting dormant trees and waiting til spring to see them start.

Sorry for the multiple postings, every once in a while it seems the site doesn't show the first post

I was going to ask what to do with them when I get them in the fall. So you let them leaf out and grow all winter long?
