Jealous yet?

Had two Raspberry Latte today. Ok they weren't as good as September, but not bad.

I am hoping you have extras of these, still interested in picking one up.

I have to say at first glance I thought I was looking at a Raspberry sorbet ice cream.

Just had me one of those truck stop dinners and that fig would have been an excellent dessert.

Ah John yanking the chain!
Naw not jealous actually im happy that you posted some nice pictures of ripe figs at this time of year for me to see as i always enjoy fig pictures of all types .
Tanks

Yeah, whatever Jon. I'd send you a box of snowballs but you'd just end up with a box of water by the time it got there!

Well...that fig looks tasty....I guess.

Jon
I don't feel jealous because I don't wish that you lose yours.
However, I do feel envious wishing that I had one like yours but ripening earlier.

saxonfigs,

I say we should proceed with the snowballs. What a great idea!
Add a couple of pine cones and a small bag of rock salt.

Anything else we can think of having in the north that he doesn't have in warm sunny San Diego.

Dry ice and a foam box will get the snowballs to him safely!

I will chip in.

Some road slush in dry ice !

Rafed,

Just put a refer on the back of your rig, and you can bring me a whole truckload of snow, and enjoy some warm weather for yuour effort.

Jon,
In that case then we can do a little downhill skiing in front of your house ( LOL ).

My 8 man tobbogan is ready.

Very well Jon,

I'll bring along Gene, Bass, Gorgi, Adriano, Akram, Martin And several other great f4f members and now we have an Olympic team.

David ( Warrior ), You'll be the coach.

The snow should hold off for one practice run and then it's off to Vancouver where Paul can meet us at the border.

I think there's a good chance we'll bring home the Gold!
And instead of them handing us roses we would prefer 1gl. size potted fig trees.

Hmmm, potted figs for prizes. I wonder where those would come from?
Heck, I'd be glad to judge and sample.. I mean hand out the prizes. ;)

Bring it on.  75F today and sunny.

Sure sounds like a good time !
But i may drift if i meet paully because he knows where the fishing hole is for my favorite type of fishing.
Jon that 75 sure sounds nice about now as its 11 out here according to aol weather which i believe as it took a while for my car to warm up when i went out earlier.
Sledding by Jons house in 75 degree weather geez cant get much better than that!

It's fun ribbing you Jon while we're up here freezing our figs off! Looks like our snowballs are about to melt though as it's supposed to be in the 40's all week next week (for W.Ky anyway). We'll get ya on the next one.

I guess I should be fair though because I still have those fond memories of eating mangoes and oranges in December in S. FL.

Martin - Sounds like you would have enjoyed those Redfish and Snook I used to catch at the Naples pier. Man! That was sure some good eating fish! Nothing better than fresh caught saltwater fish like that. Even my picky (as far as food goes) wife liked the site of me dragging one of those dudes home.

Bill

I am waiting for quite a few trees to go dormant, and many that are leafless still have green, unhardened wood. Saw 2 yesterday that were breaking dormancy. Didn't have the heart to post a pix of figs breaking dormancy a week after New Years.

Go ahead Jon,

You've wounded us already, Post the picture and go for the kill shot.

But I must warn you!
Don't come crying when the temps in San Diego drop below 55 degrees.
We'll just turn the cheek.

Hey Jon is the raspberry latte a rather late variety or was it one of those that just didnt want to stop giving you figs?
