Thank you Martin,

Even though a lot of people say you don't like White figs, I truly hope I find one that you maybe interested in.

that's a good looking fig. almost look like the fig that was found around the area where Figo Preto was found. inside looks similar to those found there also. maybe a portuguese fig? did i say i like the look of portuguese figs? for whatever reason, they look just so good.

It may have splitting problems. Found near Garfield, NJ. It was the biggest fig tree my friend discovered summer 2012. The figs he sampled (though it needed a few more days) were said to be delicious, the bite into the fig was crisp...Lyndhurst splits at a young age too, and like all properly ripe fruit tastes incredible. Looks like it does really well for New Jersey, curious to see how it performs in Idaho. The original tree was left unprotected about 30ft in height

I just caught myself fantasizing about this fig. I looked at the picture again, I really like the fact the skin is thick. Its like pealing a mango to get to the pulp. yum. Day dreaming here

I can take a few photos tomorrow but the trees are dormant. I got 4 Green Paradise and 2 Green Italians. They're all around the same size, 3yrs old. Pics coming tomorrow.

I had to come back and look at the pix again. So Jen, what would take to get some cuttings of this fig?

I worked as a boilermaker and one of my job site's was in Ridgefield Park, NJ. That's about 10 minutes from Garfield, NJ. Took me 2.5 hours driving 80mph to get there. From exit 1 til the end of the NJ turnpike exit 16-18. From atop of the boiler, if you looked south on a sunday night or sometimes monday night, you could see the JETS or Giants stadium all lit up for football. And if you looked ESE, you were looking at the EmpireState building. They would change the lights on the building for the different holidays. Any way, Jenn, if it's possible to go there to ask for cuttings, I would make a trip. Even if it's a splitter.

nelson, this fig looks very similar to Black Madeira, but with light color outside. the red pulp and the honey inside look just so good. definitely something to try.

I found this tree on Palisade Ave Garfield. Had to be almost 30 feet tall. John was allergic to figs so I ate a bunch, nice taste, crunchy. He had 2 of the same tree. Couldn’t tell me much about it. I went back about 2 weeks later after several days of heavy rain. Good amount of splits. I’m still going to grow it this year and give it a try.  I found about 50 different trees this summer without hardy trying. Managed to get cuttings for about 20 of them. Some really tall trees.

Some neighborhoods in NYC  you can see 50 different trees in a single block.

Put all you fig slueths on a bus with some pruners,
run you around one day in a couple of neighborhoods,
and you would have cuttings for a lifetime :-)
