Jolly Tiger Ebay auction question

I put up a Jolly Tiger a few days ago on ebay and put in the description I do not ship out of the US I noticed one guy was bidding on it quite a bit, ebay name " amm_th7 " well come to find out he is from Thailand so I wrote to him and asked him if he was going to have me ship it to someone in the US and he said he would pay extra to have you ship it to Thailand, well I told him it was against the law to ship out of the US  and I put him on my blocked bidders list , should I let the auction run or end it and start over?

Hey Dave, there is a way to block people from bidding from countries of your choice when you are listing the auction. That way you can avoid any misunderstandings. If you decide to end your auction now there is always someone who might disagree with you. So it is really something you have to really think about. Hope it works out for you. Best of luck!

Cancel the auction. If he wins Ebay will still demand their vig, they don't care.
Once you've cancelled the auction change your settings to preclude international
bidders and begin a new auction....Placing him on your blocked bidders list will not
prevent him from bidding on this auction.Been there done that.

Dave read the ebay policy before you decide to end your listing.

Found this on Ebay:

Fees

Ending an auction-style listing early once it has received a bid can lead to disappointed and frustrated buyers who may be less likely to bid on listings the next time around. For this reason, we may charge a fee if you end a listing early. This fee is equal to the final value fee you would have paid if the listing had ended on its own and sold for the highest bid received at the time you ended the listing.

  • We charge this fee if you cancel bids and end an auction-style listing early without a buyer.

  • We don't charge this fee if you end an auction-style listing early and sell to the high bidder. (In this case, normal final value fees apply.)

  • This fee doesn't apply to listings in the Real Estate and eBay Motors vehicle categories, and the Classified Ads selling format.

Because we understand that sometimes it may be necessary to end a listing early, we don't charge a fee for the first auction-style listing you end early (where a fee applies) per calendar year (January 1 to December 31).

Your auction is only at $41 right now. You know it'll end up going for much higher than that, even if the foreign guy had never taken part. I wouldn't worry about cancelling the auction -- his bidding won't have any effect on the final total.

Well I just got off the phone with ebay and there is nothing I can do or they can do you have a 12 hour window to end your auction and I missed it but what she did do is contact the bidder from Thailand telling him that it stated clearly in the description that I do not ship out of the US

The person from ebay said it's not a big deal and I informed her that ebay reports anyone that sells fig trees out of the US to the Agricultural department so it could be a big deal if he is the winner, I already I got a letter from them a couple of years back for buying cuttings from overseas " which I don't do anymore "

Apparently when you are listing an item and you uncheck global shipping thats not good enough  you have to go into your account settings and uncheck global shipping program

We shall see

Now I have a new bidder from Thailand  siwa911 LOL Between the fig tree scammers and now the bidders that can't read  good luck selling and buying on Ebay , the lady from ebay that told me to change the global setting said that people from other countries would not be able to see or bid on these items LOL so much for that!

Went through the same thing earlier this year.Notified repeatedly the bidder in Thailand
I would not ship and requested that he stop interfering in the auction. He never responded,
continued bidding and won.I changed my settings to no international, and blocked him during
the auction to no avail.Ebay later informed me that setting changes could take days to kick in.
I refused to ship,Ebay took their vig and I wandered around in setting changes for an hour.

Thanks Paul they failed to tell me it took days for the setting to kick in
