Jolly Tiger Figs

Some figs on 1 of my jolly tiger plants.

Martin, you've really got a unique fig and tree there. Is the darker coloration, not the yellow or green, an indication that the fig is getting ready to ripen. There seems to be a reddish or brown color on the fig.
"gene"

That is freaking SWEETTTTT.Awesome plant and picture.

I love how some of the figs have a wider swath of green vs white, and vice versa. I wonder why that is.??  What do the leaves on the Jolly Tiger look like?   I just love the assortment you show us Martin.

Wala!

They [fruit] are stripped (variegated) too...

Stripes on Panache are also variable in width quantity and darkness.

Martin,

How about them only-DARK-figs???

Gorgi - yes i show you dark fig on jolly tiger next to a variegated one .   ; )

I also show 1 dark one by itself from last season.

Re middle pic:

Is this one of your [funny] fig-tricks (like sticking an oleander flower bud into a blooming fig-eye)?

Gene i kinda doubt it as these figs came on late but im just letting the tree go thru its cycle , they should not ripen this season and it may be because of the cold im not absolute on that .
The other plant the figs are further in age but do not show that reddish/pinkish hue just the variegation.

Sara here are the leaves, the yellow ones in dated picture from July as some may think there like changing into fall colors but thats not the case with these.
I show 2 plants one younger than other.

George no thats a true picture but a very fair question.  ; )

The dark type fig appears at the leaf axil of a solid green leaf next to my far left finger and the variegated one is at leaf axil of a varigated leaf that i had to bend up over the fig to take picture as it was covering it.

More mystery to the 'Jolly-Good-Fellow' fig!

Recently, I did encounter a similar 'weird' fig - all tree fruit was of plain (pale) green skin,
but then by pure chance, I saw this (and yes I do have that one single twig - hope it roots) :

Oh wow Martin, those leaves have to be by far the most interesting I have EVER seen on any plant thus far.  It doesn't help that I am enchanted by fig leaves!  I guess the Jolly Tiger is going to be my ultimate dream fig, along with just about every other fig nut on this forum and beyond.  So interesting.  Thank you for posting those.

Do the dark ones taste different than the striped ones? And, if Panache has Reverse, then what about Jolly Tiger, is the reverted plant worth growing?

Have not tasted a varigated fig from my jolly tiger plants  as this is first season all appeared. The nursery owner stated this plant does get them so he was correct .
I had a reverted but it died in storage  , i may or may not grow another .

Martin...if you will/can share with us, what nursery happened to carry the Jolly Tiger?

Hi Sara,
it was Asiatica that had closed in past.
