Our local weatherman stated today that this has been the coldest July on record 119 years gee i dont know how the heck they keep records that far back.
Anyways he also stated that this is the only July ever not to have 1 recorded 90 degree day, yes its been a cool summer to date but my fig trees seem to be humming along doing there thing like there is a time clock built into them.
If they taste good is another thing though but time will tell, i read some folks have had too much heat like in Texas my gosh they had a string of 100 plus degree days , Seattle recently broke a record for heat of 102. I guess soon we brace for the rain that we all hope will not come at the wrong time to spoil some of our figs. A lot of folks are trying to cope with birds, bugs, insects, animals, RKN, i even saw post of a bear!!! Some had fig plants never to break dormancy, a lovely poster had a baby born.
In the mean time lets cross our fingers and hope the weather cooperates this coming early fall so we may all enjoy what we work so hard for a nice decent crop of good tasting figs. I cant wait to see more pictures in near future of lucious ripe figs from the forum members .
What a good group of fignuts and thanks for the enjoyment in reading your posts and seeing your pictures.
