Just finished potting up fig tree

Even though it was raining I made up a mix to plant my Blk. Triano tree that was in the tub since 2000. I used my garden spade to cut through the roots on two sides after I took it out of the pot.. I ended up a little short on my mix so the last two inches I just used a bag of garden soil. I think it will do alright. I also added osmacote and mixed it in the soil. In the photo you can see the sze of the container it was growing in and also the one it is in now.
I hurried a bit because of the rain. Got kinda heavy in thre larger pot.

Nice tree Lou

Lou,

What size pot is it now in?  It looks like a great tree.

Andrew

Hi Lou
That Black Triano looks good. See you at the meet.
Vito

Hi guys,
I think that pot is at least 22 gallons. Glad to hear your going to the meet Vito. Don't take away all most all the prizes like you did last year--HA-HA
Looking forward to it.
Lou

Nice job...looks like a real healthy tree...good luck with it...watch out for your back with that one.

Looks like lots of nice trees to me.

goss

foreverfigs
you reminded me to find out if i could use a auto motor lift that mechanics use to lift up engines.
if one ties the tree and lifts it will lift the whole root mass and the pot wil go outeasily with some watering after.
somthing like this can work :  http://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-2953AT-12-Volt-Portable/dp/B000COTKDM/ref=pd_sim_auto_5/176-9973991-0260137

Eli...sounds like it could work if the tree is adequately protected...and would definitely reduce wear and tear on the back.

How do you like the figs - breba and main?

That's no easy task...good job Lou!
