just finished prepping the cuttings.

all the cuttings are in the baggies now. i'm thinking.. that's going to need lot of soil mix soon.. 15 bags with at least 3 cuttings each.. some has up to 5. so at least 45 cuttings. more likely 50. it's about half of what i have coming in for next year. i'm thinking i need better way to do this.

Big container with sphagnum moss and small heat mat. I just bought cheap from eBay super thin plastic mat if interested ill post the item number for you

Well, this is the thing.  You get 3 cuttings and they ALL root!  Multiply that by whatever, and exactly!  HUGE problem.  Then you need to pay higher shipping to distribute them with their roots.  Not sure why mine root, but they do.  I only wanted one to root, but I have many to share.  Shhhhhhhh  Not saying a word.

Suzi

suzi,

i have perfect way to ship rooted cuttings. so shipping is no issue. just that will cost more than i'm willing to spend. have few friends who are interested. and i have boy scout troop and cub scout pack that i can share it with. i think in that picture, i have... 14 different figs. i need two of each. that's till 28 of them in the cups. good think i have 30 1 gal pots providing that i move all my 1 gal containers to bigger containers by the start of the spring. then there is 10 i ordered from UCD.. and 1 or 2 more that's gong to come in on spring from different members... i need to brush upon my spread sheet use.

Pete, how about planting 2 in one pot. Would that be OK? You can always airlayer and give to that 'special person', so no need to double pots, soil and shipping costs...Aside you can sell them well developed for a lot of money on Ebay and buyers would be the shipping also.

grasa,

i haven't sold anything so far. not because i don't like money, but because if i'm going to sell, i'll make sure i have all the license and things. beside, sending few air layers and cuttings hasn't been too much expense.

maybe in future, i might think about getting nursery license and selling on ebay.
