Very very nice.  How old is the tree and what medium are you using?

Mario
Enjoy. It would not be very long before you taste the good ripe Excel brebas.
On the other hand not having too many brebas puts you ahead for the main crop.
The Excel cuttings I received from you are doing fine; two made it to the one gallon pots after many hurdles on the way. Thanks again.

Wow!  Those are incredible!  I have never seen a fig that large.

Thank you for sharing my friend.

Best wishes to all.

After Georgiafig post I went outside to check if my Excel plant that would bear this size fruit is still fine and it was. The fruit size seems big compared to the fruit pictures for Excel that I have seen. Are you taking care of it in any special way!

Hi Ottawan.  Hope your Excel does just as well.

It's either a gigantic fig or a very small hand!  ;-)

It's magnificent Mario!

We have an Excel also, but it's just in it's second year and may have some fruit but nothing like this I am sure.

Best wishes to all.

Thanks Guys

I didn't do anything special that I'm aware of
I up poted in February and trimed the roots a little and added more soil
the medium I added is 1 part pro-mix 1 part pine bark (small) 1 part rabbit compost and 1 part perlite all in equal parts and I fertilize with Miracle Grow 12-4-8 every 14 days

not much more but I noticed that it grows more after a good Rain fall there must be something in the rain that makes plants grow better

Akram the cuttings you have are from this tree
BTW this tree is 5 years old this year

Mario
Now I know what "1 part rabbit compost " can do !!
The only rabbit compost I have is when the jack rabbits come in winter and chew on my newly planted fruit trees when there is nothing else not covered by snow and later in the spring I find the jack rabbit signature with almost 1/4" pooh balls near the chewed up plant. They can cut the plant like a beaver with no mercy.

Ottawan, I have some issues with slugs chewing on tender branches  during dormancy in garage. Even now with
the plants  outdoor I see them snacking mainly on dead barks. Amazingly they have can gorged the barks.

Nice pic's Marjo.

We have had rain in the last 3 nights
They are bigger now them they where 3 days ago
its goto be the rain causing them to grow
I have never seen figs this big
Hope they taste good

Have a look at this

Bad case of fig envy here.

wow!  those are the biggest figs i've ever seen!  awesome...and jealous! :)

Mario,

How about taking some photos of your Excel and other figs in your collection to add to the Fig Variety Photographic Identification database proposed on my website?

See:   http://sites.google.com/site/kiwifruitsalad2   and download the Word.doc proposal that is linked there for some basic ideas of how to proceed.

Anybody with several known varieties is welcome to submit photos of both Breba and Main Crop figs/leaves for inclusion in the database.  My ability to do this alone is severely limited as all figs in my collection that have ripened fruit are already included on my website, and it only shows Brebas since Main Crop figs rarely if ever ripen here in Seattle :(

Mario those are huge think I will pick one of these up on my next visit to see Adriano. Thanks for sharing
