Unless you live in California or Hawaii:-((

Yeap, I second that :(
Do you offer the G.Negra cuttings for the CA residents?

LOL.... The F4Fun Community hopes great success on your Ebay Sale.   On us California collectors don't worry, we have a lot of varieties available to us. Plus we got Jon of Ecanto in our Golden State. It took me 6 mos to get a Col de Dame Blanc....so its a waiting game.

Well if you ship to Australia, I'd buy them.....

In the winter a lot of cuttings will be available, I think the shipping to Australia is probably very high. If I was in Australia I would ask for a small tree that was dormant...... I think, not sure, the cost of a small box of cuttings is around 89. dollars US.

Gary & Greenfig, I was just in California. Not sure whether I'll have cuttings but I'll let you know if I do.

Armando, thanks!

Armando,
If you got caught shipping figs to Australia, -- first the person you sent them to would go to jail. Second the feds might not do anything too serious to you but you would have to forget about ever visiting Oz as they are super hard core about bringing in or taking out anything alive.

Yes, Michael,
About 2 years ago I went to Australia for a conference. I had some travel mix remains containing nuts in my bag. A border patrol dog sniffed it out and they almost fined me for $1000 but I got away with a warning on the first time. That was scary as hell, those guys are seriously serious about the plant material going in.

Thank you! I am sure it will thrive on the other coast!

Thanks Michael, If I ever go to Australia, I will go with a trench coat and bring in some watches....LOL

I agree Michael, Australian custom to a point nearly paranoid about bringing anything alive in the country.
Nothing will ever come with soil and to import one needs to have import permit. Also willing to pay for quarantine cost for 45 days.

Why no shipping to California? I have ordered plenty of trees from outside California. Is there a specific law about figs?

Also, I have shipped a fig tree from California to Hawaii. It had to go through inspection, but it was no problem.

Also, the eBay listing says it ships to "United States". IamKriya, will you ship to California or Hawaii? If you do, please let me know, as I may want to place a bid.

Somebody wanted it more than me :)

Fig Tree - ***Galicia Negra*** - Extremely Rare, Extremely Delicious!

Sale price: $208.01

Paul,my understanding is that CA is strict regarding live plants coming in. I am just not comfortable selling and shipping a tree and have it confiscated. I would really not want anyone to waste their money. I'll let you know if I'll have cuttings. Also, I travel to CA quite often and could bring a live plant with me.

Wow.  Good luck to the winner of the Galicia Negra!  I hope the tree rewards him/her greatly.  I remember how nice the pics of the fruit looked.

Congrats to the winner! Thank you!

That would have doubled in price if shipping to Ca.

CA has plant sniffing dogs.....if the plant gets detected the buyer will say he didn't get it which he didn't and the seller is out the money.   It is not the sellers fault, they would love to ship to CA.  If a person in CA wants a plant I guess the best thing would be to contact a seller off Ebay and pay privately and that way the buyer assumes the risk of detection.  Honestly how many dogs can they have?  My bet is it is a 1/100 chance of getting detected.

I think any new pests brought in would die of thirst.

Good response Gary.

A high price like that make us without money feel even more poor.  For $200 I will feed my family for a long time. That is absolutely crazy.   I cried when my mariposa plum died and it was only $9,99.

I think I maybe only paid $150 for my Galicia Negra, LOL.  Grasa, sometimes we need our "fix" really bad and don't always use common sense when buying something.

The biggest regret I have is not protecting the one fruit my Galicia Negra produced this year.  Dang birds!!!
