Checked my figs today.
and am happy to see some at long last are showing signs of ripening.
Weather forecast for next few days promises to stay warm, but will it be warm enough for ripening?
I do not know.
I oiled a few to help them along.
The big surprise was the LSU purple colouring and starting to swell.
I did get to eat one Colosanti Dark yesterday. I had totally overlooked it, and it was wonderfully ripe, having a consistency between jam and fruit leather, very sweet, tasty and some seed crunch.
These plants are all in pots that have been sunk into ground so their roots could spread out.
