Kadota Question

This weekend I bought some Kadota figs from California at a local grocery store as I was eating them I noticed every so often I would get one with dark pulp and tasted better, to my taste buds atleast. Just wanted to know if the ones with dark pulp could of been Fertilized? Ofcourse I had to sacrifice one of those figs and pull out the seeds and sow them just to see what would happen. Oh by the way the ones that had the darker pulp were greener in colour compared to the others.

That would be my guess.

Thanks Jon, funny enough last year I got my anatolian seeds on sept.15th and oddly enough I sowed the kadota seeds on the same day. Hmm thats kind of weird.

Yep they were definately fertile. Seeds from half a fig only can imagine if I would of thrown all the seeds in.

Will they be any good for fruit production?
O will they just grow and never fruit?

Jerry,

I know with citrus it can take upto ten years before the tree that was started from a seed to set fruit.

MY GUESS is this could be the same with the figs. Maybe more maybe less.
Only time will tell.
