Kala Heera/Ghosh = Desert King?

Can anybody tell me for sure if Kala Heera/Ghosh is the same as Desert King? It sure does look that way.
I will have an idea in a month or two. Both are loaded with breba. If not the same, is one better than the other? I need to start thinning the herd.

Art,

I have the same question. Mine aren't big enough to even have brebas yet. I am interested in any informed opinion, as the space constraints are critical for me.

All I remember from a previous discussion here or GW is that the two varieties are not the same.

Art, were you able to answer this question?

James, I ate quite a few of each. If they aren't the same, they are close enough that you wouldn't need each.

And so I passed my Desert King on to a friend. Kala Heera is still a little, BUT it survived last winter and so I have hope.

When I grew the two, both DK and Kala Heera were identical. I no longer have either one because this variety did not perform well under our conditions.

Thank you for the information.  I have Kala Heera and no room for redundancy.  I assume they ripen about the same time, as well?

James, From what I remember they were ripening at the same time.

Leon, it is interesting that a fig variety called Desert King does very well in the Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot but doesn't do well in New Mexico where the conditions are more desert-like.  Hmmm....
