Almost confused this with my Ischia Black.  I should have known it would not be doing this good.  I recently started adding the metal labels because my other plastic ones are always fading.  It has around 50 figs on it.  Should I remove all the smaller ones?

Yes Remove about Half off,as the tree is too young and not well adapted to East Coast cold climate.
Mine also suffer aether from Stress or FMV,whatever it is,the tree is not doing very well.
A lot of fruits now like in your case mean death of the plant next winter.

Got mine in 2008 .
If same source as mine and from same Belleclare mother plant it has  FMV in the leaves and some of the figs as well.
Despite the FMV mine grows well in a container .

Tmc if you thin out the figs -
In your second picture look at the fig at 3 and 7 o'clock remove those as they are showing the beginning signs of the virus in them , they will most likely fall either way later in the season.
Try to pick those that display that spotting when thinning.

This season i leave all mine on to see whats what, but on another tree i had one fall already.

I purchased this from gorgi in August of 2009.  I think it dropped all its figs last summer but there were only 1 or 2 anyway if I remember correctly.

TMC then our plants are the same . 
Mine was set back 1 full season when its roots snapped ( not uprooted ) and i found whole plant laying on rim of pot in a wind storm in past season.
Lets post pictures hopefully of a nice dark type fig this season when the time comes.

Here are a few time dated pictures .
Note the one pic a few months later by looking close you can see the FMV in its leaves .
Or you can invert picture for a even better look at the FMV in its leaves.
Its no big a deal as plant grows fine with it like most do.

This is going to be painful for some people to see so you might want to look away.  It was emotionally and phyically difficult for me because I got some of the latex sap in a cut on my hand but I removed all but 15 figs from my Kalamata Black.  It will be interesting to see how quickly the remaining figs respond.  Hopefully I will have a stronger tree next year.

Dont worry TMC theres more were they came from, i let my tree Kalamata Black tree do its thing this season.   ; )

That has to be the most productive tree I have seen a picture of.  There is a fig at every leaf node.  Is that in a pot?  I did notice on my tree that the FMV did not seem to show up in the skin of the fig at all.

TMC  in your first post the fig in middle picture on right side of branch -second from bottom it seems to show faintly .
You can double check by looking at same exact fig in your yard as times goes by if its there it will show more and more on that fig.


Here is example on my tree, the spotting will darken in time to light brown then darker brownish/black.

Great looking trees folks!

In spite of the FMV, this variety sure doesn't seem to let that slow down its productivity. I'm loving how productive it is!

This means I'm going to have to add this variety to my wish list - Aw dang!
