My in-ground Kathleen's Black has several sprawling limbs coming out of the main trunk just above ground level.  Today I was trying to bundle them together using twine when I accidentally snapped one of them off at the trunk.  After a few four letter words I finished wrapping the tree with burlap and a tarp as it is supposed to get to 21 degrees F here on Sunday night and this particular tree was planted in the ground in June.

Anyway, I'll give away (for $4 postage) some nice cuttings to the first two members who respond to this thread indicating interest.  Sorry but I must limit this offer to members with U.S. addresses only.

That's a nice offer.  I'm trying to figure out a good game to play to distribute VDB cuttings and roots of the Mother tree.  We can't dig that tree out.  It went beyond it's pot, and it's 8' tall!  Lots of cuttings.  I need a game.  PM me with one.  I'm game!

Yes.  A tree that dug it's roots well beyond the pot that contained it.  I brought one of it's rooted air layers here and it's thriving in ground.  But Moma tree...  The cuttings will be large, because this is now a large VDB Tree. 

So do you have a suggestion for a game that members can play to win cuttings?  There are a lot of cuttings.  Not sure if I can get that rooted tree out of the ground.  I'ts been growing there for many years.

Wahoo!  The home teams all one!  Too bad it wasn't a game for your cuttings Suzi (because I'd love a VdB cutting), but I'm all warmed up if a game does happen!
