I just found out that after 2 years of communication with Ken Stockton that he has a website and is a painter.

His paintings are awesome and wanted to share with everyone else.

Amazing drawings. It's very hard to believe that they are not pictures but drawings. Just superb.

Beautiful work!  I love the presence of water and the saguaro trees!  They are protected trees in Tucson.  I think there's a fine if you cut one down.  Wish they grew here in the low desert, but it's too hot here. 

Driving through the desert can be boring, but it is fun to see what grows in different elevations.  Haven't seen a fig tree yet growing wild in the desert!

Those paintings are beautiful and impart a sense of peace.  Thanks for sharing!

He sure does beautiful work to say the least. I saw this one painting from the Sedona area, it is called Oak Creek canyon, it is the same spot that my wife lost her wedding ring, right by that same pile of rocks.How strange! I showed it to my wife and she immidiate remember the spot.

I met with Ken last year in Tucson when he gave me a Tena fig.
He told me he was a painter but I never imagined he was this kind of painter.

Don't know much about art work but looking at his paintings I say he is in the class by himself.

Thanks, All, for the kind words! I should mention, though, that time marches on and I've had to shift career gears. Flogging canvases was a great experience while it lasted, but the recession pretty much wiped out my sales and I finally had to put away the brushes and go back to school in hopes of finding a new career that would pay the bills. I haven't had the heart to take down the website yet, but it's probably time.

But--if I ever decide to limber up the brushes and paint a fig or two for old time's sake, I'll post an image on the forum. At least the birds won't attack a still life!

KEN!  Those are your paintings?  They're beautiful and so realistic.

Did you ever paint figs?

I hope you leave your website up for people to be able to see your works.

Were your paintings ever in that Southwest Art magazine?  I think that was the name of it.

You really paint lovely water.  It looks like one could just wade on in and cool off.

Thanks for the link, Ken.

I had subscriptions to Southwest Art when I was oil painting way back when and stopped when I stopped painting, which I wish I hadn't done.  Loved that magazine.

I chose oils because I'm so slow.  LOL!  Lots of time to think and work and rework.

Really great art.  I see some of my favorite places.  Hope you can get back to your art someday.  These are tough times around the southwest so I can understand the switch.  Fortunately, the fig hobby can be pretty easy on the pocketbook.
