Kind of OT, Fig art

I was playing around this weekend at my friends home with some paint and canvas. These didn't turn out bad though there's not enough contrast for my likes. I'll do better next time. One leaf is from Chris's Portuguese Fig and I forget which tree the other came from. It's a scanned image of the leaf, printed in B&W then painted with acrylic paint and cut out. Matte medium is used to 'glue' it down to the canvas. Maybe I'll stick with quilting. :-)

Those are beautiful Sue! I like the shape of the leaf on the left better, but I love the splash of magenta on the right. ...or is that purple? I don't know, my wife says I'm colorblind.

Thanks Paul,
I'm going to play with this technique a few more times. I'll make sure to use more expressive leaves too as I like the one on the left better too.

I like it. I would love to go back to painting someday.

Very cool, Sue!  The technique is unique!  Good job!

I like it.  I'd hang it on my wall :D

I'll trade you some fig trees for'em, assuming we won't run afoul of any California plant police. . .

See my Free fig trees in Baton Rouge thread for available varieties.

And you've got to sign them
