By just leaving this FF, any good/experienced person will only be 'glorifying/satisfying' the offender (if that was the cause/concern) ...

OK fine, I have no problem with adding UKN to every fig I have introduced to the forum... Jesus!

I've pretty much stopped posting and even reading this forum - mainly because of Aaron.

I've privately asked Jon for an official 'ignore' list for the board, but he politely and unfortunately declined. I generally skip Aaron's posts unread, but he's just everywhere and frankly impossible to avoid. And heaven forbid anyone corrects one of his many flagrant errors!

I'm sure I'll pop in once in a while because I still love figs, but for the most part the vitriol I've felt from Aaron directed specifically to me - more than once, including sexual innuendo - has made me feel it's just not worth it. One rotten apple can spoil a barrel.

I doubt I'm the only one who feels this way, but I am willing to say it out loud.

I'm sorry to hear that Gina, I think if we band together we may be able to help solve our problem, it can only get better.

Sucks too Gina, because your one of the few fellow blueberry enthusiasts here. Its cool to have other things in common to speak about other than figs.

I was not aware of all this until this thread popped up. Had to get the scope from another source. Not going to comment about it because frankly, I skip around and don't read every thread posted on here unfortunately. But it is a shame if some of you old salts on here decide to call it quits. I haven't really even had the pleasure of dealing with many of you yet. Maybe cooler heads will prevail after a good nights sleep?

Its not fun reading how a less than 1 year expert on figs has so much to say.

Aaron, give it a rest. It's been a year of it....people are tired of it.

Several years ago when I was still working for the Postal Service I would visit the Rural Carrier online forum. We had a somewhat similiar circumstance with one of the members. He said his name was Billy Whitt. Found out latter his real name was Igno Ramos. Finally went away when we all started to ignore him.

Ya know, if I had this many members complain about me, I would at least open my eyes (and listen) to what they are saying.

I want to say thank you to Willis for performing a valuable service to the forum by keeping Aaron in check. Please do not change or leave us Willis. Whether you are a newbie or not, but especially if you are a newbie, you should limit yourself to asking advice or commenting when you have something constructive to add. I have chafed for months reading Aaron's continual nonsense, and while he may trade sticks with some people, and he may find some nice caprifigs which excite Francisco, most of his stuff is just an irritant. He lacks humility and he lacks a basic grasp of the english language. Maybe he craves attention. I am glad people here are finally verbalizing their desires to clamp down on this wildman.

This comes from a longtime forum member, frequent reader but limited poster. I am and have been firmly in the camp who regards Aaron as a large problem on this board. The direction this thread has taken is not an example of a conspiracy among a group of threatened old-timers to drum one individual off the board, it is a spontaneous outpouring of frustration with one (two, in Rafed's case) belligerent, unapologetic and duplicitous individual.

I firmly believe in freedom of expression and I do not have a problem with how Jon moderates this forum or what tools for controlling other posters he provides or doesn't provide members. I believe Aaron has a right to post on this forum under this laissez-faire approach. On the other hand, Aaron refuses to admit he is the center of the upset and is, perhaps, incapable of even seeing it. What is one to do? Ignoring is one option, but there will always be folks ignorant of the history or gullible enough to believe his declarations so he will always have a rapt audience to feed his narcissism; banning him might solve the problem for a moment, but likely violates Jon's idea of a forum set up for the free exchange of ideas by all and I suspect it would be a temporary fix as it's easy to create a new handle. The third option, the one currently being pursued in this thread, is to make Aaron aware that his tactics are known and will no longer be tolerated. It may make the forum more difficult to read for a time, depending on how desperately he holds to his position here, but he will tire of constantly being called out by numerous members of the forum every time he steps out of line, whether due to posting false information. attempting to impart wisdom he has never developed or earned or engaging in any other activity that may mislead members of this forum. He will either satisfactorily moderate his ways or he will eventually go away.

It is not a happy solution and may drive members away for a time or even permanently, but I believe it's the only workable solution to this problem.

Neil and Michael, I agree with everything you both have just posted. My only other thoughts are losing a member like Rafed just to appease an
individual and allow him to stay and continue his negative influence. Rafed is the glue that holds this place together at times and his departure
would be a terrible shame. I have totally ignored the posts of this individual for some time now. I will continue to do so until such time that I see
fit to no longer participate myself. All of my bidding for items that benefited the foundation were either directly or indirectly influenced by Rafed.
Some may say that should not be reason for doing so but Rafed is a positive influence and leader on this forum. If he leaves, other senior
members will follow.

why can't everyone take a breather, wipe the slate clean and start over. I don't think Jon started this forum with the idea that he'd have to be a babysitter so I can understand his point. We all say things we don't really mean ( me included). If we all agree to stop the bickering and the hurtful posts we'd all be better off, afterall it's all about growing figs right? My slate is clean, HELLO ALL!

I read a few post (Rafed & a couple more) giving up on everyone here due to the unfortunate friction not caused by those who will enjoy your company here (mutual thing). I am requesting them not to take any such steps. You all have good fig friends here and don't abandon them. Why not just stay as member. If after a few months, preferably longer, you unfortunately still feel the same then you still have the right for that unfortunate step.
Such steps are very hurting to your fig friends......... Do reconsider, please. Help keep it a good palce.

Now Aaron is spamming half the board with this PM (thank you anonymous for sending it to me)........trying yet again to play the poor picked on victim.   Now normally I would not post this but he calls me out for abusing him and other posters....who are these other posters???    



I am writing out of desperation for help.
I love figs and growing them and , I think by now, even you have realized my passion towards them...how I try to bring new discoveries and sharing them in the forum and bringing interesting topics that we can all learn about, like...Wasps, Capri figs, Rooting methods...etc. Love all that.

      Please help me stop this abuse towards me and few other members of the forum by HungryJack and WillC who most of the time team up to temper with my reputation and ruin the momentum of something good...by always criticizing, putting down and humiliating what's been said or shown just because they can. This troubles my inner peace and I feel like I have to do something about it in order for the forum to have Zen time. We all deserve better and this place , needs to be a place where we can have a pleasant time and positive experience. Instead I feel I have been emotionally abused and put down constantly by very few childish characters who never have brought in anything valuable to the forum but creating trouble to become a center of attention for fun.

      This negative energy acts effect me and leaves me with very little positive energy to work on my:
*"Synonym List",which is a very important improvement to Identifying Fig  Varieties. 
*"The Los Angeles Fig Forest.com", which will serve as a vital information center for the WORLD for education on Figs and Benefits and Know Hows of all of it.
Between being a young farther of two babies, full time student and meanwhile trying to make all the ends meet is not an easy task for ANYONE and certainly not easy on me.
      I need your help to stop this nastiness and abusive behavior of these few people in the forum towards newBs by just not encouraging them further to come up with new destructive comments or negative attitude. And by all means, I don't mean that no one should disagree with another but PLEASE why get nasty and degrading towards each other...?

I have done some research on the web and through different abuse agencies and got some very valuable infer and strategies how to handle Internet/Forum/Char Room abuse not leaving out Police report on abuse.

Thank you in advance and sorry if I have taken your valuable time to bring up a very important (to me the least) issue , that has been going on for a very long time and apparently Jon has no intention not the will or power to do something about it.
