Last frost for south central PA & NJ?

Well, we had what was hopefully our last frost of the season last night.  I'm thinking of bringing the actively growing figs up out of the basement to get them acclimated a bit to the sun before planting.  Would anyone advise against that?  The 10 day forecast doesn't show any evening temps in the 30s anymore.  If that holds, I'll probably start planting the figs about mid-week and will plant the dormant ones now.

Has winter finally had its last hurray?  According to plantmaps.com, our average last frost is April 21st-31st.  I'm anxious to get planting!

Last night, I bed-sheeted for the last time this Spring.
Didn't need it, but safer!! New Bern is in 7a, near coast.
Today, I set my gallon and three gallon trees outside, under some low trees. I have a couple of Stella , Mar. Blk , Hardy Chic.,
Shar Ital. , Rocco Blk , Verte- strawberry, even a LSU gold ( which roots and grows like mad. All are seeing outside, under the tree, for first time.  I hope for a great year!!

Yeah, here in Pittsburgh I'll take the covers off of the in-ground trees for (hopefully) the last time tonight. Tomorrow morning the pots go back out on the shaded deck,

I live in north-central VA (Zone 7) and left my 3 potted figs out. They are all about 1 year old (purchased in 2011). One lost all it's leaves to the cold, one lost 2/3rds of its leaves, one didn't lose any.  It doesn't appear that the trunks had any damage, just the leafy greens...

Will they recover on their own with new leaves?

Thanks,

In my part of SoCal, they are predicting snow down to 3,000 feet tonight. That is very low for us, especially in April. No frost however.

I am in a slightly warmer zone than you Tim, less west of Philly. Frosts do happen in May here, maybe not this year because it is so warm, but it might happen one out of four years. Mother's Day is the generally accepted date to start planting out tomatoes etc without needing to worry about them.

I would  do the shuffle for awhile with the leafed ones, the dormant ones should be fine to go out. The ground is hard as a rock here, good luck.

It looks like it will be nice an warm in the next week. When pulling out your trees most likely they have already broke dormancy, make sure to keep them in a shady spot first before placing them in hot sun other wise they will burn.
We still have one month before we can safely say no more frost.
