Last VdB n Mission figs for the season. Latest figs ever here near Chicago in my yard.

Both figs were edible but they have lost flavor now late in season.

Hi Martin.  That is pretty amazing, having figs this late in the season.

I used to live up there, and I've seen snow by now some years.

Hope your winter is short and next year is your best season ever.

I still have 3 VdB figs hanging on my tree ,but tonight was so windy so I brought all my figs to garage for winter storage.
I would kept them longer outdoors ,but this Thursday I`m going to Europe for 2 weeks so figs will be safer in garage.
My Martin`s unknown you gave me had only 4 figs left on tree and those was formed after I trimmed tree about 2 months ago (not after 1st pinching) so I can call it did ripend all figs this year :)
The last figs taste very bad,no sweetnes at all.In my expirence best tasting figs are the figs that ripens when it is hot and synny.
