Just enjoyed several Green Ischia figs today (Nov. 19) from a friends place two blocks from the ocean in San Diego, CA. This is a very MILD climate with few hot days to ripen figs. Anyhow, they were still delicious and surprisingly sweet for this late in the season. I would recommend this fig to anyone in a cool summer climate. The pics are below. I really think this is a beautiful fig. If anyone wants cuttings, I should have some in late Jan, early Feb. Please PM me. Enjoy!

Ha! This Angels fan finally figured out the meaning of your Padsfan name!! San Diego = Padres! Now, I'm a Chargers fan if that helps (Picked up Danario Alexander for my fantasy team, and I made bank) but nothing can take my Angels from me! It is a beautiful fig! Wonder how it will do in the heat of the desert? I've got some cuttings coming from another member and looking forward to it! Suzi

Wow not a good season to be a Chargers fan. Next year maybe we'll have John Gruden as a coach?
Two blocks from the ocean, mild climate... sounds like me! I've got a verte and a strawberry verte newly planted. They may both be green ischias, we shall see.

I have several Green ischia 3 year old trees and they seem to hold up good so far I haven't gotten any figs yet had a few but I pinched them so the trees could get bigger but even with the few cold nights ( 30's) they still looked good. So hopefully the humidity we have wont hurt them. I will be sure to post pics and updates next year when they produce fruit.
