Recieved some Atreano cuttings recently and as a bonus some Lattarolla cuttings were added. Ive been reading some on here about it but those posts were from 2012 and 2013. Any definitive findings on this variety yet? Is it as good of a fig as its suppost to be and is anyone growing it along the Gulf Coast?

Lattarola is a very productive, large fig. It produces a small breba crop. The tree is resistant to mosaic virus. The eye of this fig is very, very small. The pulp is a slight reddish color and is quite solid- little or no hollow in the middle. This fig is definitely it's own variety. It is not Atreano. It is not Conadria. It is definitely not Lattarula!

Lattarola has great potential. It has so much going for it as a backyard variety for all the reasons I listed. It is an amazing fig that fruited on a very young tree for me. The flavor of the first figs that I tasted last season was mild. However, all of my friends who own this fig have encouraged me to wait it out. The flavor is supposed to be one of the better lighter figs around.

My Lattarolla is my best grower by far.  I started a cutting last year thanks to Barry and it was put in a 6-7 gallon self watering pot late last summer I bought at Home Depot.  Trouble is it already wants to be up potted again.  Barry warned me it was a vigerous grower and it certainly is.  I like to refer to it as Lattarollazilla.  It might be my first fig tree I move to a half whiskey barrel or similar.  I had one or two figs from it last summer and it was very tasty.  At last count there are probably 12-15 figs on the tree now, who knows how many I'll get by the end of the season.  On cold nights here this winter I threw a sheet over it and it had no damage at all this spring. Go for it!!!

Cool, guess I will keep it! I've got 2 of them cupped and the roots are going nuts. Looks like I may have an extra for a lucky forum member soon!

Talk to Ed (ejp) he is one of the first to grow this variety.

Here's the figgy line up for comparison.  Left to right - Sunfire, Enola 3, Lattarolla.  I started the cutting on Jan. 26, 2013 and it is 1.5 inches in diameter at the base today.  Also found some fig photos from last summer at the end of Sept.  Note the very large eye, but it did not split completely or spoil.

Moderately crunchy, slightly to moderately sweet, slight figgy flavor, very nice fig with good size....definite keeper. Beautiful looking interior. Thanks for the cuttings Barry! Also a very, very vigerous grower. At the end of this season this fig tree will be my tallest and largest diameter of all those that I started last fall/winter

Dang, that's a huge eye on that fig. I read a report that it has a very tight eye. Does it hang when ripening? That could keep rain out of it but if not I will be surprised if it does well here with all the humidity. Thanks for the pics and report Steve.

Latarolla does not have a big eye. The eye is closed. I agree with BLB on the description. Steve, what was the source for your Latarolla?

Nice, thanks for the pics! Just potted up one of my Latarolla cuttings last night. One more to go! Is this a unknown that someone just tagged a name to? I have forum friend who might like to have the other one I got but hes pretty picky! He only wants named cultivars, not unknowns!
