I wrote a little article on Le Marché aux Fleurs (the flower market in English). It was a place I visited when I was in Paris. Obviously, since I wrote about it there was fig trees!
If you are in Paris I recommend you have a look at this place. I also want to thank someone who had the idea to post on Gardenweb about that place some years ago...

if anyone ever considers to buy a fig tree there keep in mind they are a bit pricey (around 25 Euros for a really small one and over a 100 Euros for a big one)
