I got a new addition last week, an unknown " Large Purple " fig/
it's my "Antenna Fig" and noticed that the last two bottom leaves have gone to
fig leaf heaven.
it was very sparse on the bottom leaf wise before , now there are no leaves on the first two feet of the plant.
But there are 5 nicely developing, plump looking figs in that area.
None of the bottom five figs have a leaf near it.
The rest of the tree is doing very well and loaded with figs and its matching leaf, but not the bottom.
The tree is first year, with no brebas, all of the figs are main figs.
My question is, I thought each fig on a tree HAD to be paired underneath a leaf or at least extremely close to one.
Think the " Leafless Figs " will fully develop? or should I puck them off now to redirect the energy to the rest of the plant?
Nick.
