Leaves shows problem ???

Hi All :
My neighbor shown me his young fig trees yesterday and asked me why the leaves became unusual as per photos attached. I questioned his if he put too many fertilizer and he said not sure. Do any members know why this happened so I can tell him accordingly.
Thanks .................. IMG_20150912_183815.jpg  IMG_20150912_183830.jpg  IMG_20150912_183830.jpg

The speckling is from FMV. The yellowing on the top leaf might be a bit of an underwatering issue (signs of stress). The brown could be symptoms of rust or water stress.

Sorry I m not a disease expert but this time of year it is not unusual for fig leaves to look beat up.

Exposure to strong winds, leaves also get sunburn and overheated pots due to sun create stress.
Also some rust, molds and mites are around and can grow depending on wetness and of course many figs show FMV symptoms.

If the fig has grown well for the year then start planning for next year either up potting or planting in ground.

Good soil mix is best way to tackle FMV symptoms.
You may want to apply some dormant treatments like neem oil so you lose any mites.
For molds clean up fig area and destroy the damaged leaves and you can apply some organic fungicide.  I use potassium bicarbonate(or baking soda) to kill the molds.

Hi,
It could be from lack of nutrients and insects.
I would use some lime on the trunk and on the dirt around the trunk.
If you're in a cold zone, wait until next April to give the tree some fertilizer.
But plan for some fertilizer come next growing season.

Hi pitangadiego : If it is due to FMV, what should I do to remove from this young fig tree ?

Hi Pino : My neighbor actually plant them in a very small pot of each and water them every morning, He said he showed the photos to one of the local farm nursery and the guy said to him due to too many water (more like over watered) Do you think so ?

Hi JDFrance : Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
