~austin, i have had my letiza for two years now.i left it in the pot first year ,and put it in the ground last spring ,so it was 1 year old and getting nice caliper on it so i did ground it.they list them as low as zone 6 ,i am in zone 6B ,it put out about 15 figs last summer it's first summer in ground and it was 1-1/2 years old then, the fig has a really good taste sweet berry flavor ,i like it alot ,i plan on doing a few airlayers on it this spring,i have one baby from it now,it airlayered well also. it seems to stay compact ,but looks really healthy and seems really to be really good cold hardy, the new green shoots or groth on it turns woody quick, which makes it a very good choice for me here.i don't have any others that wood up new groth as fast as it.~and it did put out a few figs it's first year in the pot,but i left them get a little big then removed them to give the tree a sort of speak, kick start,~ HERE IT IS AT ONE YEAR OLD~!LETIZA (2).jpg

THANKS CHUCK

MINE will be deliverd in may .

who else is growing this fig ?

I got a Letizia last year. It ripened a few fruit last season. It had a taste profile similar to Hardy Chicago in my opinion.

Thanks Jkuo

I hope to see photos next yr as several members have this fig

So maybe a Mount Etna type eeer mountain fig .  Dennis said it reminded him of Florea.

My Letizia arrived this spring from Burpee. It struggled until I moved it into a #6900 nursery pot. It took off and produced several figs, one of which rippened in December. Its taste was about like you would expect for a December fig. I am looking forward to this next season.

Leaves and figs look like ones in above photos.

I was going to just stick with the few fig trees I had but ony 3 ever had any figs and not many so I orded this ''' "Letizia Fig"...

and 4 more types from greenFins $7 tree offer because I kill cuttings .

I ordered  Florea , RDB , DK, and a ukn from NY  called CIGAR  because the Italian gentleman who owned it smuggled a cutting in a cigar pack when he immigrated .

~~ i think you will like letiza especially in it's second year ~

Well I have to say, this was one of my best tasting figs this year!  I have 4 trees and the fruit on my trees are a round dark blue fig.  All 4 of my trees are very fast growers.  I will plant 2 in my orchard this Fall and see how it does in the Carolinas.  Get Letizia!

~thank you ~

My Letizia gave me a good crop of very tasty figs this year before the coon invasion. It is definately one I will keep.

At the beginning of the season my trees got two applications of Super Bloom which I attribute to the amount of figs my trees set this year.

Also Letizia is a very healthy vigorous grower for me growing in a heavily mulched #15 pot. No doubt the roots have grown out the drain holes by now.
