let's take a moment of silence for those who were killed in 9/11..

i remember clearly what happened on that day. at first, i thought it was some kind of big joke.. who would dare to attack US. but it did happen.

let take a moment of silence for all those who were killed on that day. and all the heros who were there to help and sacrificed their lives.

let's keep ourselves awake and aware so this type of tragic events will never happen again.

God bless those who lost loved ones on this day,
God bless those who goes in harms way,
To prevent another

Sad day indeed.

God bless the victims and their families.

I lost 2 friends in the 9/11 attacks, a day that americans should never forget. Everyone should make it a point to one day visit the 9/11 memorial in NYC if they get the chance.

Very sad day, i hope it will never happen again.

God bless all victims.

Never, never forget who did this, and why.  It's purpose was to destroy our freedom, and to end the American way of life.  And, it's been going on for hundreds of years.  This is nothing new.

I had two friends atomized, on that day.  The stench from the burning pile, Ground Zero... lasted for months, and I could see the twin plumes of thick, grey smoke from where I lived...miles away.  New York City was rocked to its very core, and we were left reeling from the shock.  But New Yorkers were/are tough, and like a Phoenix, we rose up from the ashes, and went on with our lives, though bloodied and damaged.  Our American Spirit will always live on, and prevail.

Beware, and be vigilant.  The enemy is HERE!  It's called "Ignorance", and "Political Correctness".  We will cut our own throat!

American people MUST rise up and change what is not working, or perish.   The God-given experiment in freedom that so many have given their lives to defend will be no more.  It's already half-dead...and it will not take much to kill the rest...forever.

EXTREMISM IN DEFENSE OF LIBERTY IS NO VICE...
MODERATION IN THE FACE OF TYRANNY ...(FOREIGN, AND, DOMESTIC)... IS NO VIRTUE.

OUR ENEMIES MUST BE VANQUISHED.

My opinion.

Frank

Frank,

Your words this morning are true and in this time non the less are even more true.

Our nations has been hit a major blow and those in power have already looked away. What should have been learned eleven years ago, was not done and ignored. Today we are still under threat inside our own borders from the radicals that believe they are doing god's work.

For myself I sat in silence this morning remembering those we lost and reliving the morning as the clock ticked each second. I live next to the Mid Atlantic Naval Headquarters. This win the area knew something was going on after the first plane hit, the jets of all the jet bases in the area were up in the air prior to the second plane. The navy has always told us to be aware of those actions, as it meant we were at war.

In the time since President Bush declared actions against those whom had conducted the attack we have seen the leaders removed and paid with their lives. However, the real threat as you mentioned is still out there. That threat is an idea... an idea that goes agains self freedom and the way of life that many take unaware of the cost. This idea may have sprung from the minds in the radical circles of islam, but has now spread beyond those and into everyday people around the world.  Should we blame the religion, I say no. The religion did not order the attack, it was those who teach and warp the minds of the vulnerable who are to blame. Those are the people we must be wary of. As these are the ones who are now spreading the ideas of the radicals.

Society says we have to show tolerance. While I do agree to a point, we must not show a blind eye to the treat that is within our own countries borders. History has taught that when one forgets the lessons and actions of the past those lessons seem to repeat themselves.

May we never forget what we learned eleven years ago today......

Remembering our friends and family is painful today. May peace be with you and those around you.

At the time this happened, I worked for an international company based in Canada, and they were very saddened about this tragedy in our country.  They stopped doing business that day, and sent us all home and be with our families.  That company is The Canadian Standards Association.

Other countries were also saddened.  New York is a melting pot, and people all over the world lost friends and families.

So sad for those who lost family and friends.  I hope we never forget for the reasons you all have mentioned.

Chris, et al.  ....

It was only with the greatest restraint....and, thank God for the "edit" option, that I posted my brief, very deeply felt, remarks.  Some still refuse to believe America, the country, and concept, is teetering on the brink of failure.  We are dangerously close to the point of no return.

We soon will have to decide if this country will go the way of the failed, Socialist model, that has never worked,.... or, do we still have a spark of any independence left in our philosophy.  What kind of country do we want for future generations?  Do we sit around a campfire and sing "Cumbiya", or do we fix what's broke?

We need to remember these things on "9-11"...another day that will live in infamy...or they all returned to dust, for nothing...nothing.

Frank

I remember where I was, I was at my daughters first of pre-school.

Ya, I think we ALL remember where we were on that day.  Thank you Frank, and Chris for your remarks.  And thank you, Pete for starting this off.   I have nothing to add except:

GOD BLESS AMERICA

I was here at home watching the morning news. At first it was reported a light plane had hit one of the towers.... it got much worse.

It was a very sad milestone event for so many reasons.

I was at work and received a call from my husband about the planes hitting the WTC and came to find out that he was supposed to be at a meeting that morning at Windows on the World but had decided not to attend in order to get other matters taken care of. Then a 1/2 hour later found out that our son was also supposed to attend the same meeting and he too decided not to go . Neither one of them knew the other was supposed to be at the same meeting !  Soooo everyday I thank GOD and count my blessings for I could have lost them both .

And Frank I do agree with you wholeheartedly.

I remember picking my daughter up early from school because they were sending kids home as no one knew what might be next. I walked to get her, didn't have a car available that day and I remmber walking past homes with flags flying half staff already. And who doesn't remember the imagery on television, terrible. God Bless those killed or injured on that terrible day.

I am very encouraged to see that we are all on the same page, and I thank everyone for their well thought-out comments.

For me, it is not easy to relive these unspeakably sad events without arousing within me, violent indignation, and will always be so, until the day I close my eyes for the final time.  It is one thing to watch the 9-11 tragedy unfold on TV, but quite another thing to look up to see jet-fighters flying over New York City.

At that time, we were all galvanized by this event and all were willing to fight for a common cause...our lives, our freedoms, the futures of our children.  We were attacked.  On that day we were all just Americans, without any distinctions...but, Americans!  We instinctively knew what needed to be done, and we rolled up our sleeves and we got 'er done!

May our AMERICAN SPIRIT never be quenched!  Teach your children well.  Teach them what freedom means...but also teach them what will happen when freedom is lost.  Our colleges, our politicians, our religious leaders, our movie-stars will not.

Life is not some idealized, Norman Rockwell painting.

Frank

I remember that day as if it were yesterday. I was on guard duty,I had just pulled a 24 shift and was about to be relieved . When the call came in that Fort Lewis was on lock down.  A month later I was in Kandahar,  Clearing mines from a busted up runway .

This morning, as I do every Sept 11th. I call up one of my old trooper bud's at 8:45 am . We talk for 1 min only , at 8:46 all is quiet for 5 minutes . We both use this time to reflect and remember those that we lost on that day .
