Light or No Light for Potted Figs during winter

I have seen several different opinions about this.

I brought several figs into my attached garage.  They are Potted.  Zone 6 in PA.

1.  Is it preferred that they are in darkness or have light, or no preference.  (I am confused because trees that are in ground and go dormant obviously get sunlight through the winter).

2.  Do figs go dormant in their natural habitat?

3.  What is the lowest temperature a potted fig should endure during dormancy... also... what is the highest temperature that a potted fig should experience during dormancy.

I am sure that these have already been answered somewhere on the forum, but sometimes its just easier to re-ask the question rather than go searching.

Thanks for the help!

1. Does not seem to matter. Mine are in a dark garage or under leaves all winter.
2. Yes
3. Anything consistently above 40f after they get their chilling hours (around 200 I think) and they will wake up. My trees survive lows in the teens but spend most of the winter around freezing +- 10f.

If they are dormant and no leaves on them then they don't need light.

Like Andy and Aaron said.  Mine receive no light in my garage. My garage seems to stay between 40 and 50 degrees even in the worst cold fronts, oh and they receive water only one a month or so.
