Hey first responder, want to sell me one? :)
missed again, there is always next year.Mark
I'm just curious if this was cuttings of a plant sourced from Bass which he calls Red Lebanese? Another member, I forget who, started later selling one that he calls Lebanese Red so it gets a little confusing. I suggested to Bass that he come up a more proprietary name to help avoid mix-ups, etc.
Cuttings from a cutting from Bass. We all know figs grow like willows and the rare today will be notso rare tomorrow. just trying to recoup my initial outlay today.
I think Bass calls his tree a Lebanese Red and the other member calls his tree a Red Lebanese (think he is from Ohio). Both of them look like good figs but since I seen Bass's it became a part of my wishlist. Bass's site shows an awesome photo of this fig in someone's hand.
Like I stated, Mine were from one of Bass's cuttings, cuttings. The hand you see is probably from a three year old child.
Bass from PA
Yeah, there you go, I already got mixed up and switched them even though I already bought Lebanese Red (repeat, Lebanese Red, Lebanese Red) from Bass. :) Maybe it needs to be Joy's Labnese Red (it's her hand in the popular photo), or JLR?
My variety comes from an old coastal city of tripoli in north Lebanon. Marius has a red skinned variety from Bakaa valley in western Lebanon. Many fig varieties in the Middle East are given descriptive names regardless if they're genetically the same or not. For example byadi is referred to the honey type fig. Red Lebanese or Lebanese red has the same meaning, it probably goes by the name of teen ahmar.
