Sal,
about my Pastiliere is the age and weather combination.
Plant was bought not long ago in 4 inch pot and its going thru its cycle , there were no figs and they recently came out which is late in season here but will adjust itself next growing season and figs will come out earlier.
Usually i start getting ripe figs late August and thruout September.
Growing in containers i can get a head start on season in early spring by bringing them in and out of garage as the weather tells me along with keeping the containers on something like rocks or cement for heat and in full sun works well for me.
Next season the figs will come out earlier and i probably get to eat some from this pastiliere plant. Its been said that pastiliere along with a few others ripen earlier than some types which helps me so i find out in coming seasons as our climate is not like a florida or california longer season one. My older plants i can depend on each year giving me nice amount of figs to eat hopefully some newer ones i try will do the same eventually.
I do have some young plants that should not be good for my area that i try to get decent figs in coming seasons as well these need longer season but im hardheaded and try a few things for them to see what will happen.
Sorry to go beyond your answer in long post.
