It came way earlier than I thought and is a nice little fig, unfortunanltly it looks like it's has baby figs which I will have to pluck later (or little things between leaves)

What causes rot is too small of roots in a vast amount of wet soil! It might be alright I was just letting you know ? The best way is to wait until the pot is pretty much full of roots, then go to a larger size.

Up pot little bit at a time till you reach a full one gallon size pot that is nearly root bound.
