I don't know what variety that is, but it doesn't look like Brown Turkey.
Looks great though.

Good looking fig

It looks good whatever it is!

Not Brown Turkey, good find! What climate zone are you?

Of course the owner thought it was brown turkey im in zone 9. It was killer, sweet and crunchy and oh soo good. I believe there are many different varieties of brown turkey and there are many leaves and figs on jons descriptions of brown turkey varieties that look identical to the leaf and fig.

Agree, not a BT, looks good! Got cuttings? :)

Im working on it it was so good

Hey guys....I think this is Brown Turkey. Brian is in California. Brown Turkey figs are caprified in CA and are absolutly delish! I wish everyone in this forum who haven't tasted a caprfied BT fig COULD taste one that's ripe like this one. It would completely change your mind about Brown Turkey figs.

A brown turkey fig should be much bigger than that even without caprification.  With caprification it should be even bigger.

Bump

Brian, what made you to call a Brown Turkey?

...hmm... that lavender/pink Ostiole Star or very familiar...maybe its Pastiliere of some sort.

a bit small next to my bt, darker too. but it looks good and im in a diff climate. looks like an unknown, the cuttings came from AZ and it was given the name of purple havasu unknown.

Well aaron I was basing it off of pics from jons data base. I started researching common varieties to try to narrow it down. There were a few pics of fruit and leaves that were almost identical to this tree. However the ostiole does not look like a bt after checking. I wish it was easier to id figs lol. My wife had never had a fresh fig and she tasted it yesterday and loved it. It was so sweet with a berry figgy flavor.
