Hey all I just came across this fig by chance behind a gas station in bulverde! Not sure what it is but the leaf shape is quite a bit different than a lot of the figs I've seen around while fig hunting

Those are beautiful long fingers on the leaves. At first glance it looks like Brunswick.

That was my first thought too: Brunswick a.k.a. Magnolia. Any idea what the figs look like when they are ripe?  If you get a chance please post more photos of the ripe figs.

Thanks for replies! There weren't any ripe figs on the tree that I saw. I talked to the gas station attendant and she said, " It is a fig, sometimes it put on figs sometimes it doesn't." I asked her about cuttings and she said," it is a fig." Then proceeded to tell me to take whatever cutting I would like. Needless to say she wasn't full of information:) I am headed back to get cuttings in the next couple days, and I will check for ripe figs again.

That is a big, beautiful and healthy tree!  Nice find!

Looks like Brunswick to me.

Nice find big Mike. Most likely a Brunswick and there's nothing wrong with that. It is a great tasting fig. Now if you're lucky enough could be a number of other cool varieties. Only the ripe fruit will tell the story.thanks for sharing.

mike did you ever see what the ripe figs looked like or taste one ?

Unfortunately, I haven't tasted or seen any ripe figs from this tree:/ It's not far from where I get groceries though, so I will post if I see figs ripening.
