Long Brown Honey fig.

Does anyone know what the BT/TE designation stands for?

VS, that fig doesn't look like Brunswick to me. Brunswick figs are shorter and wider/fatter. Looks like a good cultivar! Good luck with it.

Does anyone know what the BT/TE designation stands for?

Hmm i was thinking something that would surely get me banned !

I think that the BT stands for Brown Turkey and the TE stands for Texas Everbearing. I read that somewhere but don't remember where. Maybe Jon's varities pages.

Martin, Martin, Martin.  LOL

Thanks Susan.  I was thinking BrownTurkey and went brain blank on the TE. Regardless, I think it will be a great plant.  You'll have to tell me how it does for you in Brown Co, since you are not too far from me.

Here is an old thread that I've been reading over and over as the years go by.  I get excited about "unknowns" like these!  Kinda like, Tony's Brown Italian!

Two years ago, I was able to land some LBH cuttings.  They struck.  Now I have 2 small trees.  They did fruit last year but I did not monitor or record its data.  This year I will report more information on this fig.  I put my 2 trees to the test and left them out in superoot pots for 2 years.  Well, this winter I brought them inside and repotted them in SWPs.  This fig has all the good info about it....tight eye, no split when rain, needs long season.  All these are perfect for my climate.  Moreover, I will be growing it inside my new greenhouse this year and feeding it alot of liquid fertilizer starting this weekend.

...BOLO.....more to come

An other unique characteristic, is the beautiful long-5-finger-like leaves like a Brunswick.
Trust me, this is no (water-spoiling) Brunswick - I had 3 variants of Bs. for comparison.

Hey Bill...aka Saxonfig, is it possible that Haikel Lebanese is the same as Long Brown Honey?

I have 2 beautiful Long Brown Honey trees that I rooted from cuttings a few years back.  The leaf pattern on this tree is truly amazing!  No FMV what so ever!  I will definitely winterize these trees indoors this year.

I also have Haikel.  Hmmm, both LBH and Haikel look similar.  I wonder if they are the same.  If so, I am a happy camper.  I will post pic from both trees later tonight.  Does anyone else have Long Brown Honey and Haikel?

I thank Gorgi, Saxonfig, and Herman2 for posting information about these figs!!!  Thank you so much guys!

All of my Texas Everbearing looks like yours and every other one sold by nurseries around East Texas.  I have tried to tell people it is not a Brown Turkey and it is not a Brunswick.  I think it would be closer to a Brunswick mutant/variant.
