Longue D'Aout

My first and only Longue D'Aout. Added Gino's for contrast. The Longue D'Aout was a day or so from being completely ripe. It was nonetheless very tasty and big enough to be a complete breakfast - with coffee, of course. Sorry the focus is a tad off.

Nice looking fig! Can't wait til mine fruits! I feel like I'm saying that a lot. I have a lot of young figs that are really supposed to be good and it's hard waiting sometimes.

I have had the Melanzana Merdascola version of this fig and despite the translation of the 2nd name I think it is one of my favorite figs.

Definitly a keeper and definitly should be in every collectors yard.

I have a Longue D'Aout as well and I hope it will fruit for me next season.
I want to compare even though they are supposed to be the same figs.

Having young figs is fun but the wait is hard to deal with. I got all of 1 ripe fig off this tree and would have been very upset had it been swiped by a critter.
I do agree that this is a "keeper" as it's good looking, big and tasty.

I AGREE! waiting for figs to ripen is indeed a long, desperate process for myself. Nonetheless, it pays off at the end!
