Look what I found!

I was trolling a local nursery that often has bargains in exotic plants.  I happened along a row of 6-8' tall figs.  All but a few were BT and Black Spanish.   Then I saw one I'd been interested in.  You all know what it is.  I asked if they provide a discount and they said, 25%.  So I may get 2 more figs this year if I can get my HID setup going soon enough.  :)   I also started telling them about high quality figs that sell for $400 on Ebay      :)

Nice find--congrats!

Bob, I am jealous! where in the world did you find this beauty?

That is a great find!  Wow!  Don't be telling them about those prices on Ebay!  OMG!  You'll be giving them silly ideas!

I already have that one, so you can't tempt me, but you will surely tempt others.... OH, by the way, I heard it doesn't do so well down South!!  ;-))

Agree Suzi,
Wow!Seems like more people are becoming excited about figs and this is opening up more varieties from traditional avenues.  Wondering where they get their figs?

Sorry for my ignorance but what kind of fig is this? does it taste as good as it looks?

It's a Panachee for sure!  No mistaking.

Dang, what a find.  Here I live in big Houston and don't see a catch like that.  Gezz, I have trouble finding good spaghnum moss let alone a tree like that.

There was only 1 tree with fruit.  That was the tree I got.  2 nice little figs.  It was here, in case anyone's near Kansas City, MO.  I think they have 2 more of a similar size.  None have fruit, though.

All their figs were from Monrovia.  They're Italian, they should know there are better figs.

Is a panachee and a panache the same fig?  Some spell it one way and some the other?

Nice find!  The trees at my local nursery look pretty sad :(  They carry Monrovia so I think I will check more often ;) ....You never know!!

Panachee is the French spelling, Panache is English.

Wow Bob what a fantastic find. Good for you !!
